It Is Mandatory For Graduate Students To Do an Internship After The Fourth Semester, They Will Not Get The Degree

Internships and research internships have now been made mandatory for undergraduate students. An internship of 60 to 120 hours has been made mandatory for the students. This internship will have to be done after the fourth semester. The University Grants Commission has prepared a draft of the guidelines. Besides, suggestions have been sought from academicians, universities, and common people on any further amendments or guidelines given by November 12. According to UGC Secretary Prof. Manish Joshi, the aim is to provide internship opportunities to the students with local industries, businesses, artists, craftsmen, etc.

This will also be helpful in employment. Keeping this in view, an internship draft has been prepared. According to the credit framework for undergraduate courses in this draft, a minimum of two to four credits out of the minimum 120 to 160 credits for a three-year degree/four-year graduate degree with Honors and a four-year graduate degree with Research students will be given for internship. The internship will be a one-credit work i.e. two hours per week. According to this, one credit in 15 weeks will be equal to 30 hours. The four-year Bachelor’s degree with Honors with Research requires students to participate in a research management/research project worth 12 credits throughout the eighth semester.

Unless this is completed, you will not get the degree. Students will have to submit a research project, dissertation, thesis, or project work to the selected nodal officer. Internships are mainly in Trade & Agriculture Area, Economy & Banking Financial Services & Insurance Area, Logistics, Automotive & Capital Goods Area, Fast Moving Consumer Goods & Retail Area, IT, Handicraft, Art & Design, Music Area, Health Care & Life Science. , Sports, Wellness and Physical Education, Tourism and Hospitality, Communication Area, Education Area, Sustainable Development Area, Environment Area, Commerce, Medium and Small Scale Industries Area, Machine Learning, etc.
