UGC’s New Instructions Issued, Now Graduate Students Will Have To Do An Internship
UGC Guidelines: According to the new draft guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC), students pursuing undergraduate courses will have to compulsorily undergo training and will be given credit for it. The draft guidelines for training and research training for undergraduate students in line with the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 was released on Tuesday.
NEP emphasizes on inclusion of research and training in the undergraduate (UG) curriculum to provide opportunities for active participation in experiential learning to the students. As per the new draft guidelines, three years UG degree/four years UG degree (Hons)/four years UG degree ( A minimum of two to four credits of the required minimum 120/160 credits of the B.Sc. (Hons. with Research) can be allocated to training.
He said that 60 to 120 hours of training will be mandatory after the fourth semester for students enrolled in UG degree courses. Also, guidelines have been issued by UGC regarding the fee structure of colleges and universities. In which it has been said that colleges and universities should upload the details of their fees on the website, so that students do not have to face any kind of problem.
