The wrestling world mourns the loss of Sid Eudy, a towering figure in the sport known by various monikers including “Sid Vicious,” “Sycho Sid,” and “Sid Justice.” The two-time WWE champion passed away at the age of 63 after a prolonged battle with cancer.
His son, Gunnar Eudy, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook, expressing the family’s deep sorrow. “He was a man of strength, kindness, and love, and his presence will be greatly missed,” Gunnar wrote.
Eudy’s imposing stature and natural charisma made him one of the most intimidating competitors of his era. His career spanned decades, beginning in WCW where he faced off against legendary names like The Steiner Brothers, The Road Warriors, and The Four Horsemen.
He gained notoriety in 1991 when he joined WWE as “Sid Justice” and served as a special guest referee at SummerSlam. That same night, he dramatically saved Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth from a vicious attack by Jake Roberts and The Undertaker.
Eudy’s return to WWE under the moniker “Sycho Sid” saw him form an alliance with Shawn Michaels. However, their partnership turned sour, culminating in a shocking betrayal at Survivor Series 1996 where Eudy captured the WWE Championship. He went on to reign as champion twice, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.
Eudy’s last appearance in WWE came in 2012, when he made a special guest appearance to celebrate the 1,000th episode of Raw. His legacy as a dominant force in the ring and a charismatic performer will continue to inspire generations of wrestling fans.
